Besson and co class a trumpet
It is owned by Buffet Crampon, which bought Besson in 2006 from The Music Group. The class B instruments are still very good. Besson is a manufacturer of brass musical instruments. It all gets a bit messy because the 700 series, and a lot of the 600 series, used parts from the more expensive Sovereign 900 range to save tooling costs. The only Besson Bb trumpet made before 1905 that I have closely examined was made about 1897 and appears to have been modified from a C trumpet, so I can’t draw conclusions from it. The student line was brought in house and called the 600 series. The last illustration on the right is from Bessons 1910 catalog, showing trumpets in Bb, C and D, very much the same as modern trumpets. At this point the intermediate instruments became the 700 series, either with "International" stamped on the bell, or for a short period "Imperial Besson by Boosey and Hawkes". This item may be a floor model or store return that has been used. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. Condition: Used: An item that has been used previously. In 1983 they started to drop the Boosey and Hawkes name and moved towards "Besson London".
